Re: MHi BPM Executive Coaching & Certification Program
Do you feel that your
team needs traction to get
your Process Improvement efforts off the
starting line? Do you want to move
past the seemingly endless meetings where
it feels like nothing gets accomplished.
So many BPM teams spend countless
hours "spinning their wheels" which
creates frustration and anxiety for everyone!
Most BPM teams struggle because they don't have a clear understanding of what the end result of the effort is going to be. Some teams even get so caught up in the documenting of the process that they forget the object of the project is actually to increase bottom line performance - enhancing the value that they provide to their customer. Even if a team goes through all the "prescribed steps" of the standard BPM methodology, they are faced with a 60-70% project failure rate!
To successfully create the levels of performance you need to be successful in today's ever changing marketplace, every component of your organization must be in proper alignment - continuously adding value to your customer. This synergy can only be achieved by addressing all four key components of the enterprise - Process, Organization Culture, Organization Structure, and enabling Technology. Business Process Management (BPM) is the key to creating this synergy!
When
properly applied, the concepts, techniques, and tools related
to Business Process Management (BPM), Enterprise Architecture
(EA) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) can be
powerful enablers - resulting in significant improvements in
an
organization's services, cost reductions, and an improved
ability to effectively fulfill customer's requirements. Improperly
applied, these same concepts, tools and techniques
can lead to failed projects, wasted dollars, frustration,
and disaster. Training and preparation of the Team charged
with leading the implementation of BPM is critical
to not only the success of the initiative, but the
ongoing success that emerges from that initiative.
Several years ago, Mountain Home recognized the significant
shortage of capable individuals to lead organizations through
the sometimes
tumultuous
journey
to a Process-Based Learning Enterprise. So, in response to this challenge, Mountain
Home took its decades of
experience providing the
industry's
leading Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Certification Training
Program and combined it with the latest, cutting edge concepts,
techniques, and tools of Business Process Management (BPM) to
create a truly practical approach to BPM certification in the form of its Business Process Management (BPM) Executive Coaching and Certification Program.
As current and former Business Leaders and Federal managers, we could identify with the marketplace challenges both business and government organizations face and the lack of an integrated approach to Transformation and Process Improvement. The BPM Executive Coaching and Certification Program was created to address those frustrations. |
|
Issues such as total Business Transformation, Business Process Outsourcing, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Strategic
Sourcing,
and Alliance Management all in a multi-cultural
environment have become the norm in business.
Managing this environment while cutting
operational costs takes a NEW approach, one that
is based on a holistic
view of the enterprise.
At the heart of the Program is an integrated performance improvement methodology we call the Innovative Management Framework TM (IMF). The IMF leads an organization through a systematic model beginning with Strategic Planning, Process Modeling & Analysis, Activity Based Cost Modeling & Analysis, Business Case Development, and Implementation by asking a series of five questions. The answers dictate the steps needed to reach the defined end state. To ensure the organization reaches their destination, the IMF also includes the development of an Enterprise Performance Management (Scorecard) System (cascaded throughout the organization) and the infusion of knowledge management principles which enable the organization to become a true Learning Enterprise.

So,
what is Business Process Management (BPM)? There
are mountains of literature written on the subject of
Business Process Management (BPM) every year, yet people
still ask – “What exactly is BPM? Is it a
process, technology, or just another fad?” It
seems the answer varies depending upon whom you ask.
BPM,
as a term, tends to be defined based on the context within
which it is promoted. For example, software
development companies often refer to BPM to describe the capabilities
of their particular technology product; |
while practitioners,
management
consultants and academics typically refer to BPM as a management
discipline.
|
The
Association of Business Process Management Professionals
(ABPMP), one of several associations dedicated to the advancement
of BPM as a discipline, defines Business Process Management
as:
"Business
Process Management (BPM) is a disciplined approach to
identify, design, execute,
document, monitor, control, and measure both automated
and non-automated business processes to achieve consistent,
targeted results consistent with an organization's
strategic
goals. BPM involves the deliberate, collaborative
and increasingly technology-aided definition, improvement,
innovation, and management of end-to-end business
processes
that drive business results, create value, and enable
an organization to meet its business objectives with
more agility."
|
|
We
believe, however, BPM
must go beyond the traditional definition of a "discipline"
and be embraced as a management philosophy that guides and
directs the very essence of the organization's strategic and
operational direction.
Any other perspective would delegate BPM to just another
"Program" that needs to be managed during its "life cycle"
then disposed of at the end of that cycle.
BPM
involves managing the end-to-end set of decisions and activities
that must be accomplished together to produce the organization's
products and services in such a way that ensures the customer's
needs are fully met, creating value for their customers. The
performance of the process is how organizations fulfill
their mission. |
